Capital One Spark: How To Get It Off Your Personal Credit Report

- Jan 15, 2020 Credit Card Info8 comments

The Problem

The Capital One Spark Miles For Business is a very high point earner for businesses, as it earns 2 miles on all purchases. and is offering a welcome bonus of 50,000 miles after $4,500 spent in the first three months.

But the reason why many business owners do not like the Capital One Spark is that Capital One reports their business credit cards on your personal credit report.  This will affect your credit utilization, which will very likely impact your personal credit score negatively.

But, I recently came across this information which might be very helpful to many of you.

The Solution

The little loophole which will cause Capital One not to report this card to the credit bureaus is actually quite simple. If you can get your credit limit to be approved for $150,000 or above (after submitting financials), then the Capital One Spark card will not report on your personal credit report!

How Do I Get Approved for Such a High Limit?

So, now that I need to get my credit limit to this extreme level, how do I go about making this happen?

Capital One has a business relationship manager designated to deal with helping large businesses utilize the Capital One Business cards. These managers are just the ones you need to get in touch with, and he/she’ll be more than glad to help.

These account managers have the authority to set your credit limits manually. But, they will require you to send in your tax returns, bank statements, and monthly spending records, etc. In addition, they would want to see high usage of the Capital One Spark card.

I have the contact details of some of these account managers but I cannot post them publicly. If you’re interested in taking advantage of this trick and would like to get in touch with a relationship manager email me at Sam@helpmebuildcredit.com and I will send it to you.

If you have any questions on how to get the Capital One Spark card off your credit report, or if you have any data points to share. Then please comment below and I will respond.

    • After sending in business financials and answering financial questions a capital one underwriter approved me over the 150k line, and it does not show up anymore on my personal report. Take note that the bank also wants to see history of transactions where the card is being charged and they are very picky with who they like as a merchant, ask your rep what charges capital one likes.

  3. The benefit of having it reported on your personal credit is, that it highers your overall credit limit, so this will not play in your favor, but still worth it

  4. Great info! What about personal liability for debts? I have a business partner but the capital one card for our LLC is in my name – if I go over $150k (I’ve slowly upped it for years and it has gotten higher although about half of that now) will that change the nature of the card in that it’s not just a card that is relying on my personal credit, in my name just with the business also on it as it is now? Or will it just stop reporting credit utilization % and I will still be personally guaranteeing it?
